RETRO PAY:
Retroactive pay for all eligible members will be in your account on Friday July 29, and your new wage rate will also be applied. The Union was also able to negotiate approval for an additional $50 Co-op gift card for all eligible staff as an acknowledgment of your patience while the payroll department made these calculations. Thank you again.
CONTRACT BOOKLET:
We're still working on this. There are a great many language changes, and it's very important we make sure they're all reflected in the updated Collective Bargaining Agreement. In the meantime, please send me an email or text/call with any questions related to the new agreement.
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING:
We will be holding our first in-person General Membership Meeting since 2019 on Tuesday August 9 at 7pm. The meeting will be held at Sutherland Hall, which is located at 1112 Central Avenue. Although we plan to present these meetings virtually in the future, this one will be in-person only.
Because we haven't had our regular first two meetings this year, we will be giving out twenty $20 door prizes at this meeting. We'll also be paying out the year end assessment at a rate of $60 for attending this meeting, and an additional $60 for attending the November meeting, which is set for the 15th of November. Your attendance at the November meeting is very important, as we'll be holding elections for all positions on the Union Executive and OH&S Committee. Please watch for nomination forms coming soon.
If you're unable to attend these meetings for a valid reason (such as working the night shift) you'll be able to fill out an exemption form to be paid out the assessment. Please see our website or a Shop Steward to obtain an exemption form.
